The MEC Rural Development and Agrarian Reform Hon. Nonkqubela Pieter handed over a shearing shed to the community of Baccles Farm under Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality.
Local farmers in the area welcomed this newly erected facility as it will serve multiple purposes to the farming community of Bacceles Farm. This will also promote local economic development in the region as farmers can export wool from this facility to generate revenue for themselves.
The MEC acknowledged the importance of farming in the area and that it served as the backbone of the local community and its economy.
Portfolio Head for IPED Cllr Thembeka Bunu appreciated the provincial government’s effort in rural investment and development and encouraged the youth to participate in farming and agriculture-related activities as vast land is available in rural communities.
By doing so, this will yield more incentives for our communities from our government.
