Emerging local businesses in Enoch Mgijima will be getting more support from the Municipality. In an attempt to ensure a coordinated approach to business support, a notice inviting small businesses to submit proposals and requests for financial support has been published.
The period for application was opened on 18 August and will close on 18 September and all emerging businesses in need of financial assistance are expected to apply.
This initiative is in line with the IDP which was informed by communitys’ inputs and comments. Businesses are to submit their requests with quotations of items equipment sought. Only registered and tax compliant businesses will be considered for financial support which will be given through acquiring of goods. Data from the proposals will be used for other future support as the Municipality will have accurate information regarding local SMME needs.
SMME support is not limited to financial support and the Municipality will continue rendering non financial support in the form of capacity building programmes which include trainings.
